Each lesson has a primary track (approximately 30 minutes long) that serves as a fundamental guide, teaching you the main concepts that will help you end the binge eating habit.  In addition to the lesson track, you’ll get these supporting resources:

Coaching tracks: Designed to help you stay focused, motivated, encouraged, and on the path to recovery (15 total).

Recordings of “Live with Kathryn” Streams: These recordings are not part of the 8 lessons, but will give you ideas and advice on a variety of topics.  Live with Kathryn streams are open to the general pubic on Instagram, but the recordings are only available to course members.

The course is for people who want to stop binge eating, and need some extra help. It is only for individuals 18 years of age or older, who are not suffering from complicating physical or mental health conditions, and who are not medically underweight or currently suffering from anorexia. The course is not intended to replace the services of trained health professionals or be a substitute for medical advice.

The course focuses primarily on binge eating, but people who struggle with overeating, yo-yo dieting, and emotional eating have also benefited from using the resources. Some of the audios address these other problematic eating behaviors, and because there is not always a clear distinction between certain eating habits, the same concepts can be useful. However, please know that this is a course to aimed at helping you stop binge eating.

There are 8 lessons in the course (116 total audios), so it’s quite a lot of information, but you go through it at your own pace.  It’s doable to complete 1 lesson per week (and therefore complete everything in 2 months), but depending on your schedule, you may want to give yourself longer than that.  The audios add up to about 17 hours, but you’ll probably want to listen to many of them more than once, and there are 24 worksheets in the course as well.

You can unsubscribe from the course at any time on your account page. (You will have to be signed in.) You will keep your access through the month you already paid for, but you will not be charged for the next month.

If you think you’ll use the course in some way for more than 16 months, then the no-expiration option is the best value for you. Even though you might complete the course in 2 or 3 months, it can be helpful to go back and listen to the audios for reinforcement and to remind yourself of important concepts. Many people like to know that the course material is available for them if they need it in the future.

The course is based around the same concepts as the books and podcast, but it’s designed to guide you in a more incremental way, so that you can better apply the concepts in your own life. The audio lessons take the most important information from the books and podcast and break it down for you in a way that is accessible and practical. Most people learn better with a structured and guided approach, but you know yourself best, so use what works for you!

The course also contains 86 Q&A tracks (plus 1 new one each month!) and many of the topic discussed are not covered at all in the books or podcast, and if they are, the discussions in the course Q&As are more detailed and relatable to your own situation. In these Q&As, I believe I’ve answered every question I’ve been asked over my years of helping binge eaters. The Q&As are very practical because you can find a question you have at any time of day or night (on the Q&A page), and click on the track to get an answer when you need it.  Most people find this to be much more convenient than trying to find an answer in a 300+ page book or somewhere in a podcast episode.

In the course, you also get 15 coaching tracks to keep you focused and motivated, including a coaching audio to help you when you are feeling the urge to binge. There are 117 total tracks throughout the course, so if you are someone who learns well with audio, or if you like to listen while doing other things you need to do, then the course could be a great fit for you. (There are also written transcripts for each track).

Although the approach in the course is fundamentally the same as it is in the books and podcast, the value is in the structure, guidance, ease of use, detail, Q&As, and coaching tracks. I’ve had so many people tell me that even though they read the books or listened to the podcast, the course gave them the extra help they needed to end binge eating for good.

Yes, in addition to the full course, you will get 2 brand new resources each month that you are subscribed. You will get a Live with Kathryn stream on the 3rd Tuesday of each month, and a Q&A track on the 4th Tuesday of each month.

The Brain over Binge Course does not offer private or group coaching. The course resources, especially the Q&A audios, provide a powerful and affordable alternative to one-on-one coaching. However, I realize that some people need more personalized support, so I would like to suggest Ali Kerr and her team at Binge Code Coaching. Although the Binge Code approach is not exactly the same as Brain over Binge, the two approaches are highly compatible, and I feel confident that Binge Code Coaching can give you the one-on-one support you need.  You can even do one-on-one coaching while you are progressing through the course.

The course also does not include any type of support group or interaction with other participants. The course resources are individually delivered so that you can stay focused on what you need to do, and stay on your own path to recovery.  If you are someone who benefits from peer support, know that Binge Code Coaching also includes access to a Facebook support community.

If you sign up for the course, you do not need to purchase the books. The course contains all of the information you need, and guides you in a structured way.  You can still benefit from reading the books, but I’ve created the course so that you can use it whether or not you’ve read the books.
